Yuletide letter

Hello Yuletide Author!

I apologize profusely that I am writing this letter belatedly. Also, it isn't very long. For something longer and rambly, and with prompts I am STILL VERY MUCH interested in, you can check out last year's letter (which was the same as the year before that -- yes, I've have two crappy falls in a row. *wince*)

Yuletide Letter 2015

But you can also write without reading past letters!

This year, because of, well, how. uh. Ok, I don't why I'm having trouble saying this but my situation is not good, it's not stable, I'm really, really stressed. The POINT is just signing up for yuletide was a victory and I will be delighted with any story you write.

My favorite narrative kinks are h/c, identity porn (when it makes canonical sense), gossip/reputation/outsider POV, h/c, world-building, found families, and plotty fic in general. I love anything that shows that a character is loved, respected, valued, and NOT ALONE. I love when characters caring about each other creates problems for those characters (when it fucks up their composure, their reputation, their personal ambitions and schemes, etc). I love, love, love seeing relationships build so that they are different at the beginning than the end. Enemies -> Friends, Enemies -> Less-hateful Enemies, Strangers -> Lovers, etc.

If you want to write pairing fic, I usually don't prefer fic that focuses on mushy/sappy/fluffy romantic tropes: e.g. dates, anniversaries, staring into each other's eyes and thinking about how lucky they are to have found the man they love, etc. (Note: I don't actually care if the characters in a pairing ever get to the "I love you" point in your story. I pretty much prefer pairing fic that's nearly indistinguishable from gen devoted BFF fic.)

That said... if writing romantic feels is what you do best, go ahead! I'm seriously just happy to be in yuletide this year, and I will love any story I get in one of these fandoms. A+++, thank you so much.

Dear Author

ETA: since offline life has gone a little crazy and since I requested the same fandoms, this 2014 letter has become my 2015 letter!

____

Dear Yuletide Author,

Before I say anything else (and I’m going to say a lot, it’s just my way), thank you for writing for me. Every fandom I requested this year is a fandom in which any story, of any shape or size will make me happy. So write the story that grabs you.

I am a sucker for world-building, plot, and fully-formed characters, even in small doses. Now, you could write from just that, but if you would like more info, what follows is an extended digression on likes, dislikes, and the wee, tiny fandoms I've requested.

More on that... the infamous optional details )

Fandoms:
More optional details: The Books of the Raksura by Martha Wells, The Element of Fire by Martha Wells, Scrapped Princess, Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Gotham )

That’s all for my requests. I hope you found something in there that helps you. If not, go where your heart takes you. You are writing a story in a wee, tiny fandom of my heart. I already love it. Thank you!

Cheers,
Pen

Yuletide reveals! Super late! Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (plus some gifts)

I wrote:
The Mountain of the Rightful Emperor by [archiveofourown.org profile] pentapus
Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Sanada Ryo/Xiu Rei Fuan a.k.a. Kento, Ensemble cameos
"Welcome to the Middle Kingdom," Kento said, switching to Japanese.

"Uh, yeah -- it’s nice," Ryo said.
So I was the worst anon ever this year. Even forgetting the egregious use of geology, my backpacking trip to China, and a Ryo headcanon I mentioned in my yuletide letter (Ryo dancing! Come on, who doesn’t want that?!), I literally told Spoke two years ago that I wanted to write her a story where Kento and Ryo worked at Kento’s Uncle’s guest house. lots more rambling )

I received:

Yoroiden Samurai Troopers
Rites by [archiveofourown.org profile] penitence_road
Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Mia, Kayura, Ensemble
If purity were in the work of purification, they'd be all set. But that's not really how these things work. Or, The Netherworld's Trust-Building Exercises Are Pretty Hardcore. Features everyone, but stars Mia and Kayura.
Longfic! With Mia and Kayura! And Kayura trying to be a proper traditional girl while also ruling a demon underworld. I loved Mia and Kayura feeling each other out. The background that penitence_road gave Mia (French Catholic) made her even more of an outside observer, an interested academic observing Shinto practice in the netherworld, and I really liked that take on it.
Sleeping Arrangements by [archiveofourown.org profile] alessandriana
Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Mia, the Ronins
In the aftermath of the first battle against Talpa, they go home.
(Blatant fluff.)
Nrrrgh, so good. Exactly my kind of fluff -- cuddling with an air of hurt/comfort and lingering peril. Like, Ryo literally does not wake up for the entire story. He is so wiped out from all that Killing-Talpa business that he has to be carried from room to room by Kento as the story progresses. I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT WORKS FOR ME, BUT OH GOD, DOES IT WORK. Also, the Mia POV was great here as she tries to keep track of everyone while being wiped out herself. There’s a bit where she has to stop and stress by herself for a moment, but instead, she falls asleep leaning on the laundry machine – I have done that! I have totally done that! I mean, it was more college finals than demon attack, but it still happened.
Torii by Shusu ([archiveofourown.org profile] Sameshima_Shuzumi)
Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Kayura, Ronins
We're the unsung handymen of the netherworld. Only because Lady Kayura banned karaoke.
This was hysterical, and what really made it for me was the solid world-building underneath. There are some great descriptions of magic and the netherworld in here. And then everybody’s characters are fantastic. It gives it that real feel that just makes humor for me. And Kayura’s POV!

Too Wise (to wait till those wolves make nice) by [archiveofourown.org profile] mpatientdreamr
Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells , Moon, Ember, Song, Chime, Jade, Malachite
Indigo Cloud Court has a couple of visitors.
Malachite! Moon! And some perfect Raksuran characterisations. Loved Ember especially – Moon thinks of him as basically the same as the royal clutch, Ember only listens to Moon when he wants to! Also, the author said she had been worried about making Moon cranky enough, which, yes, haha, perfect sum up of the Moon writing process -- always make him crankier.
Lonesome Son by [archiveofourown.org profile] mpatientdreamr
Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells , Moon, Ember, Pearl
Pearl and Moon talk about Ember.
And then she wrote me another thing about Ember!
Alien Song by [archiveofourown.org profile] mpatientdreamr

Frost, Thorn, and Bitter during Flower’s funeral.
This was a neat look at the Royal Clutch and their position as outsiders to Indigo Cloud.

Lilo & Stitch (2002):
Leaving the Nest by [archiveofourown.org profile] trollprincess
Lilo & Stitch (2002), Lilo, Nani
Lilo takes one last surf before she leaves.
This was great. Introduces a very real source of worry while also letting good things happen – and all told nicely through dialogue and character interaction. A great glimpse of Lilo and Nani’s future with David and Lilo’s unusual babysitters. AND LILO CRIES AT E.T. FOR TOO LONG, OH MY HEART.
Jhua Tehrqua by [archiveofourown.org profile] failsafe
Lilo & Stitch (2002), Lilo, Stitch
Stitch struggles with listlessness and fears of being replaced one night when Lilo's all grown up.
This is a sad one, guys. A very depressing future in which Lilo and Stitch go to space, but Stitch is still not considered a free citizen. An interesting read since it wasn’t a vision I would have had of the Galactic Federation. She’s got some great descriptions of Stitch’s body language in here, really brings home the ouch.

The Death of the Necromancer - Martha Wells
A Lady’s Education by [archiveofourown.org profile] misura
The Death of the Necromancer - Martha Wells, Madeline
They all have things to teach her.
Really nice, quick glimpse of Madeline’s interactions with the main cast.

The Death of the Necromancer - Martha Wells, Arisilde
Arisilde on the brink.
Arisilde, oh my heart. ;_;
and she is the woman by [archiveofourown.org profile] misura
The Death of the Necromancer - Martha Wells, Madeline
Two choice pieces of gossip arrived from Vienne that week, in short succession of one another.
I fucking love gossip in fic, guys. A quick spin on the existence of a Sherlock/Watson-like duo in the books canon. Madeline gets to be a novel heroine! And the way each character reacts differently is great. Madeline’s reaction being my favorite. :D

Yuletide guessing game

I got about TEN stories for yuletide this year, and when the family Christmas machine finally spits me out, I will tell you ALL ABOUT THEM. I only just this morning managed to finish commenting on them all. (Self, I thought -- why don't you just cut and paste into a separate window everytime you hit a good bit? Easy commenting! Turns out, this is how you reach the AO3's word limit on comments. Liiiittle embarrassed about that.) So many ladies and Ronins and Raksura and Ile-Rien and Lilo! <3

I wrote a story for Yuletide 2013 and for KakaIru Fest Winter Round. The latter hasn't finished posting yet, so I can't tell you if mine's been posted. Also, I'm pretty certain I was basically the worst at anonymity in both exchanges, but if you can guess which fic was mine in either exchange, I will make you a fanwork in a fandom I know (after reveals, of course). It, er, might take a while if that fanwork is fic (I'm still working on a Malachite story from last year. :P)

Wow, I sold that like nobody's business didn't I.

Yuletide Reveal: Children of the New Court (Books of the Raksura)

For Yuletide I wrote:
Children of the New Court
Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells, Moon/Chime, Jade/Moon, Moon/Chime/Jade, No warnings

Chime had his hands full of babies.

A few months ago I posted a huge rec + fanart for the Books of the Raksura by Martha Wells (The Cloud Roads, The Serpent Sea, and The Siren Depths). Which showed me 1) that lots of people had already read them, 2) some more people were going to read them, 3) and we were all totally thinking that Yuletide and the Raksura would be great pals.

I started writing this story in November before the third book came out. Lots more about 'Children of the New Court' )

In other words, I am so happy with this story, and happy that fans of the books seem happy with it too. And hey, I've got a dozen pages of foreign embassies and predator attacks and secret crossovers with The Element of Fire: Raksuran AU lying around that I like to pretend I'll do something with.

Happy Yuletide everyone!

Glimpses from an unwritten story.
Scrapped Princess! I'd resigned myself to this being that yuletide request I always enter and is never fulfilled. Senes and her boiling-over emotions! Shannon and Zefiris their crazy robot dragon and captain relationship! And bringing back the sci-fi aspects of the fantasy story! :D

Yuletide (and also KakaIru Fest)

For Yuletide I received:
castle in the clouds by Anonymous
Yoroiden Samurai Troopers | Ronin Warriors, Gen, No warnings

Seiji calling him on deck was not to be ignored under any circumstances, but the urgency in his voice this time had Ryou up the ladder in a flash.

As he got out on deck though, he slowed to a stillness he usually couldn’t achieve outside of meditation. He was aware of muttering something, but outside of an oath he had no idea what; the thing before him was filling his thoughts as easily as it filled most of the sky.

A steampunk, airship, and magic AU. It's a glimpse into the beginning of a larger story, and it does a fantastic job of setting up a journey you want to hitch a ride on. My favorite part is that the canon -- which is five, color-coded teenagers fighting demons -- can make it easy to smooth over the differences between the boys, but here they are so distinct. Touma isn't allowed on away missions because he's too excited by SCIENCE to understand danger. Ryou as a captain is so laid back yet charmingly earnest (except when he needs to bust some heads), he spends most of his time trying not be too obvious about how completely all the SCIENCE his crew keeps spouting flies over his head. He follows Touma around in the hopes that Touma will let him do something hands-on like screw in a pipe. N'awww.

And the usual guessing game:
I wrote two stories this Christmas season, one for Yuletide 2012 ([livejournal.com profile] yuletide_admin) and one for [livejournal.com profile] kakairu_fest. If you can guess either of them, I will make you a story or a picture in a fandom I know. :)

Note that KakaIru Fest posts through the end of the year, so I won't tell you if mine's been posted yet or not.

Also: I fell in love with the beta process this year. Like the kind where your beta tells you, "Yeah, axe that last half of the story and write a new ending" or "Yeah, you need to add twice as many scenes in between. Go!" Painful, but I am so happy with the outcome. So, if you beta'd either of these stories? I will make you a fanwork too, if you want it. Though until the reveal, you probably need to PM me about that. ;P

Merry slightly-belated Christmas, guys.

FYI - Yuletide nominations.

Because flist is the only way I ever find out about these things -

Yuletide Nominations close today at 9 pm Eastern Time.

Yuletide Admin Post with link to AO3

I nominated the Cloud Roads by Martha Wells, which apparently had already been nominated. I of course had to also nominate -- like I do every year -- Ronin Warriors and Scrapped Princess (an anime you have never heard of, but should watch), thereby filling up my 3 nomination spots. So if there's one of you that had wanted to nominate the Cloud Roads and now felt like nominating The Element of Fire by Martha Wells, that would be amazing. I will somehow cope if it isn't though, so nominate as your heart tells you. :P

Ryou has a fever. But the Samurai Troopers don't get sick.
Which starts with a familiar h/c scenario that turns out to have hidden, plotty teeth. EERIE hidden, plotty teeth. I loved it.

And THEN, I got a SECOND RW/YST story for Yuletide Madness. It is a steampunk AU but reads seamlessly as a spaceship AU as well, so you can pick your favorite. :) My favorite part may be the offscreen image of Xiu and Touma tag-teaming the engine repairs.

Tortall - Tamora Pierce -- Buriram Tourakom/Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie's Peak, Thayet jian Wilima

It both did and didn’t make sense that she ended up in the comfortable mess that was the common room of the King’s Own – not the one upstairs with the Carthaki rugs and the gold frames on the mirrors, but the one downstairs, where the upholstery had gone bare on the couch arms and one of the wall hangings was an axe that had slain a giant.
I really enjoyed yuletide this year, from desperately trying to get a handle on the Vorrutyers (Donna! By!) to deciding that I could write a whole yuletide treat. Oh, Yuletide. ♥ For which I had to explain both yuletide and fandom to my traveling companions and then borrow the trip netbook on overnight trains to finish. Thank you, Dear Author Letters, for providing both a hilarious Good Eats prompt (Pangalactic Gargleblasters! Lembas!) and a prompt about the tragic romantic past of the Emperor and Chifu (Mulan) when I most needed to illustrate the true nature of yuletide. ♥ ♥

(Though I was really sad that nobody requested Tharkay so that I could have gotten our Asian Studies geek to help me write epistolary fic of Professor Owen Lattimore's observations of Tharkay's journal. Apparently that guy is a Serious Dude in Central Asian Studies.)

I AM RETURNED. YULETIDE. POSTCARDS.

Home in time for Christmas and for Yuletide (and got exactly what I wanted for both! Which is apparently Ryou Sanada and a Leatherman). ♥ ALSO, I HAVE A CAT AGAIN. SHE DIDN'T MISS ME.

Yuletide:

I got
To Fall in Snow, Still Burning by Anonymous
Ronin Warriors | Yoroiden Samurai Troopers -- Sanada Ryou, Hashiba Touma, and others

Ryou has a fever. But the Samurai Troopers don't get sick.

The author described the source material as "deliciously melodramatic," and yes, mix with strong characters and a bit of effective world building and/or plot and you have my favorite flavor. It starts with a familiar h/c scenario that turns out to have hidden, plotty teeth. EERIE hidden, plotty teeth. Basically, it was delicious. RECOMMENDED.

Ok, YULETIDE GUESSING GAME -- I wrote two complete stories this year! I feel like a real yuletider now. Both are in fandoms with multiple stories posted, so I don't mind if you take advantage of that minor glitch in the ao3. I have also been away from computer and Wacom tablet for far too long, so -- if you can guess which stories are mine, I will draw you something!

Postcards

I did in fact get to everyone! Hope they find their way to the right place. :)

Also, I have a favor to ask. It felt kind of doofy to take photos of all them at the time, so I didn't, and now I am being doofy retroactively by asking: If you got one and are able, would you mind scanning or snapping a photo of it, please?

There's no need to post it (though a-ok if you do), just send me a copy of the file, and let me know if you mind if I post it. Thank you! I am kind of a hoarder, especially of my own doodles. That said -- totally optional. I know I had a great time making lots of silly pictures while sitting on mountains and in noodle restaurants (if there's rice vinegar on your postcard, er, sorry). I care more that you got it and sort of enjoyed it. :)

ANYWAY, MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

China!

So, brief update -- I am in China (Jiayuguan, for anyone who has read Black Powder War by Naomi Novik. :D), and the trip has so far been a blast. I have been bad about using DW for crossposting rather than LJ directly the few times I've had an internet connection.

Anyway, comments here are screened (yes, I just checked) so if you would like a postcard from China, please comment here with your address. I cannot guarantee I'll get to everyone and they seem to be taking 3-5 weeks in transit anyway, but I will do my best!

BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS: Please include your country and what name you want me to put at the top of the address. I will only use your info for postcards. You could also include a fandom or a general interest, but that is most likely to be successful if it falls into the category of creatures, costumes, or women. (Or if we share any yuletide fandoms. :P)

On another note, I have successfully signed up for Yuletide and posted my Yuletide Letter! It felt a little different from last year because for the first time I am requesting neither Tortall nor Temeraire, but that's because this year I can request Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. <3 <3

Yuletide

I am reunited with an internet connection and with Yuletide, belatedly. I was very lucky this year, and received four fantastic stories, 3 for Temeraire and 1 for Tamora Pierce's Tortall Universe.

Gifts:
Sweet William by [archiveofourown.com profile] Quasar, Temeraire
The Spanish Armada is about to descend upon England, and her greatest hope is a captainless dragon hatchling.

Temeraire is one of those premises that I want to see mixed into everything, not just specific fandoms, but classic story arcs, famous historical events... and here we have Temeraire dragons and the Spanish Armada! This is a very sweet story with a POV character with whom you immediately sympathize and an appealing plot -- longwings! refusing handlers! the Spanish Armada! A little romance!

Lieutenant Bennet's Visit by [archiveofourown.com profile] Beatrice_Otter, Temeraire, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
Elizabeth’s reality is far different from her sisters’.

Beatrice Otter pulls off the Temeraire/Austen fusion spectacularly -- this is everything I wanted in a crossover. The tone is perfect -- Elizabeth slides so naturally in the role of aviator, and you are so glad to see her using all that wit and intelligence. At the same time, Beatrice Otter stays true to the culture of the time, so effectively using the other P&P characters to really highlight the very different worlds of canon Elizabeth and Temeraire Elizabeth. I HAVE WANTED SOMEONE TO WRITE THIS FOR SO LONG, GUYS.

Iskierka and the Crimean War by [archiveofourown.com profile] Jenn_Calaelen, Temeraire
About Iskierka and her crew, set at the start of the Crimean War.

I do like Iskierka, but I wonder what she'd be like with more life experience. Jenn Calaelen gives a little glimpse into the future with Iskierka captained by another Granby. Liz Granby's a bit accidental, with grand ambitions but inexperienced, waiting for her chance to prove herself. And poor Izkierka does not enjoy peacetime. I especially liked the aviators speculating on what other Kaziliks would be like, having only Izkierka as an example.

Finds But Riddling Shrift by [archiveofourown.com profile] lotesse, Tamora Pierce's Tortall universe
George finds Arram Draper juggling in the snow.

I really, really love the prose at the beginning of this. Such great visual descriptions of George and Arram/Numair and fantastic dialogue in George's brief exchanges with Alanna, as well as including George's less-than-noble background. I wish it had not been a yuletide madness story, because George's discovery of Numair could so clearly be spread over a much longer, delicious plot arc.

I wrote:

Toward a Golden Age by [livejournal.com profile] pentapus for [archiveofourown.com profile] Lazulia
BPRD, Panya, Langdon Everett Caul (a.k.a. Abe Sapien), the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra,
As always, Panya professed an unfortunate amnesia.

Lazulia asked for Panya and Abe Sapien. Panya! I love Panya -- she's an Egyptian mummy who wakes up after she's unwrapped at a party for wealthy Egypt enthusiasts in Victorian England. She immediately takes to being a minor Victorian celebrity, picking up the language, the fashion, and overall deciding she likes London better than Thebes, especially the mad science experiments of the secret society that shelters her. She has her own interests and self-interest, and just generally feels like your sweet grandmother who is definitely smirking as she slaughters everyone at bridge.

The request opened up a whole host of possibilities, especially concerning Abe Sapien's previous identity as Langdon Everett Caul aka the wealthy Antebellum Virginian and member of a rival creepy, paternalistic secrety society. I had envisioned a whole story of lost continents (Kergeulen Plateau Lemuria) and Abe! on boats! It turned into a meeting-that-might-have-been between two characters who canonically moved in the same circles at similar times, which was also fun.

In other words, despite being very, very absent for most of it, Yuletide this year went very well. Hope you all had a good time and are having a great new year. :D :D

Yuletide Letter

Dear Yuletide Author,

Hi, hi! I am so excited I keep editing minute details of this letter because it's the only way I can cope with waiting for assignments. XD

First off, thank you for signing up to write some of my favorite wee fandoms. Every fandom I requested this year is a fandom in which any story, of any shape or size will make me happy. So go where inspiration takes you! (ETA: I'm sorry, I did edit this just recently because I realized I hadn't said this clearly anywhere.)

I threw a number of prompts at you because I know for me, “Write anything!” is the most difficult thing to write. I hope I gave you something you could get a grip on, or at least some clues about my favorites kinds of stories.

More on that... the infamous optional details )

That’s all for my requests. I hope you found something in there that helps you. If not, no worries. You are writing a story in a wee, tiny fandom of my heart. I already love it. Thank you!

yuletide question

Hey, does anyone know how yuletide feels about fandoms that were once big but have been defunct (fic-wise) for years? I feel like I had this hallucination several years ago where yuletide was going to include old, dead fandoms.

Fandoms are now closed and decided, so this is more of a retrospective question looking at the rejected fandoms.

Now I can add the authors to my gifts, and thank applegnat, ambyr, Elizabeth Culmer!

For yuletide, I wrote:

Of Human Origin
Hellboy (comics), Liz Sherman/Abe Sapien
She handed him a thick manila envelope. A cover sheet was clipped to the front along with a post-it note. The title of the cover sheet said, 'Notification of Qualification for Peabody Extranormal Self-Protection Act.'

If you've seen the movies, your brief guide to comic canon is:
Abe Sapien, taciturn, masculine, team leader, no psychic powers.
Liz Sherman, red head, a little butch, experienced field agent, no UST of any kind with Hellboy.

I love Hellboy and I'd read scattered bits of BPRD, so I added this fandom pretty impulsively to my signup. It came back to kick me in the butt. Over the next few weeks I read the entirety of Hellboy and BRPD canon at least three times and produced over 30 pages of story notes and snippets, desperately trying to get a grasp on writing the characters. Despite working on it almost every day, I still wrote most of the story the day of the deadline.

Trouble is, Hellboy/BPRD is a series driven by action. Action, all the time! Great action! It has interesting, very real characters -- the women are 30-45ish, competent and wear sensible clothes! Kate Corrigan, I love you -- but it's not so much with the little moments of character interaction.

Yuletide gifts!

So, I know this is the point of yuletide? And I have done yuletide before? But my first reaction this year to my gifts was something like, "Oh my goodness! That's JUST what I wanted! How improbable! It's like it's a gift for me! \o/"

Naomi Novik - Temeraire
The General In His Labyrinth by applegnat
The first time Wellington heard Jane Roland laugh, his mouth went dry with yearning.

Jane! Wellington! He is grumpy! And it is told using the device of a book of scandalous memoirs that get Society in an uproar. ♥

Tamora Pierce - Tortall
nuns fret not at their convent's narrow walls by ambyr
Alanna goes to the Mother of Mountains convent, but chooses life as a guard at the Temple of the Great Mother Goddess over marriage and life as a lady. Six months after taking up her duties, she unexpectedly encounters an intruder on the Temple's grounds.

This is the set up for a What if? in Alanna's life that makes me really want to know what happens this time around. The guards at the Temple of the Goddess are female warriors, but they're also tied to the grounds and separate from the world. Alanna would, I think, be desperately unhappy. However, living in the center of Corus, there's the chance for a whole new adventure novel involving lower city hijinks and the King of Thieves. :D :D :D (Also, there's a reference in the story to the sweating sickness -- which makes me kind of go, "Oh dear, Jonathan, you're going to be one dead prince without Alanna. D: D:")

Patricia C. Wrede - Enchanted Forest/Hikaru no Go
Princess no Go by Elizabeth Culmer
Cimorene and Mendanbar play Go. AU.

This is actually a pun on my Enchanted Forest prompt, which was "Cimorene and Mendanbar AU. Go." It's true, I do love puns. And AUs. Also has a great reference to the Gargoyle. :)

I'd offer something for guessing the one I wrote, but I think I told anyone who might have been able to guess... and you'll find out tomorrow anyway. Still, um, I could draw you a picture? Your hint is that I spent too much money in a comic book store after realizing which fandom I'd been assigned (and I don't regret it all *pets the comic shelf*).
