Me too! Though the thing is: in the city I'll be moving to, the new big ting is these giant, brand new apartment complexes with gates, parking, gyms, swimming pool(s), internet cafes, etc. So while the apartment may be uglier and smaller than they want you to see, it's probably not roach-infested and falling apart. Hiding a crap apartment is one thing -- as motivation, that makes sense -- but I think this may be more about the apartment owners having a seriously skewed idea about my priorities. :/
