A random selection of people that I follow on tumblr then: mistfarer, hontology, oflights, salvamisandwich, and aggressivebutterfly all talk about the Pens quite a bit. witchspell, boldmatter, bestliars, puckling, and elqiao talk about mostly other hockey things, but interestingly (bestliar is also active on DW, which I appreciate because mostly this fandom is not.) This is only a tiny fraction, but these people are fairly active, and you can poke around and find other people from there, which seems to be the only functional way to get things to happen in this fandom.

I am not really a fan of tumblr myself, but that seems to be the only way to know what's going on, so I have succumbed. Hope this is of some use to you; I'd also check out the non-rpf specific places other commenters mentioned.
