the question is, can I find a way to blame ileliberte for this

The weirdest part about lacking a fandom is that I don't know who to draw silly pictures of during ill-advised bouts of procrastination. I got nothing.

I think I need some kind of fandom pimping service.
thingswithwings: dear teevee: I want to crawl inside you (a dude crawls inside a tv) (myth - busted!)

May I respectfully suggest Mythbusters? There's a comm now at [community profile] myth_confirmed, and [personal profile] toft has written the inaugural crackfic AU. Plus I've made it easy to watch. :D

Could you maybe be enticed into Star Trek Reboot? *hopeful look*

Sure! The most active all inclusive comm is [livejournal.com profile] st_reboot, the newsletter is [livejournal.com profile] trek_news (which is for all trek), the [livejournal.com profile] st_xi_kink meme has been hopping with activity, and fullfilled request are conveniently sorted in a delicious account sorted with various tags here. There is [livejournal.com profile] crackenterprise for recs. For Kirk/McCoy there is [livejournal.com profile] kirk_mccoy.

I don't really have rec sets of my favorite stories, but I have read a lot of Reboot fic the last months which I tagged in my delicious account here, and I tag pretty comprehensively, so you should be able to find stories of themes you like (though I'm into Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Uhura, I don't read much fic that is Scotty, Chekov or Sulu-centric, so my bookmarks are bad for those).

PS: I just read a really good Reboot McCoy backstory:
