Prompts?

Prompt me, please?

Comment with one or more characters and something more - a line of dialogue, a description, a reference image, etc. My favorite things are costumes, creatures, and women.

Multiple prompts are ok. I don't mind slash prompts, but try to give me some alternatives to go with it. :)

Elizabeth Weir - bug-eyed monster
Elizabeth Weir - civil disobediance (her background was as an anti-nuke activist-cum-lobbyiest, after all...)
(still SGA) Kusanagi Miko - tea with Atlantis and/or Teyla (because I like Miko and wish more people did, too)

Actually Nasutei from YST in Atlantis would be interesting!

"Is that its ... head?"
"No, I think that's another leg. I think."
"Usually you can tell by the eyes... somewhere...."
"It's a rare species."

*blam-blam-blam!*

"Ronon!"
"What? It's a bug. Probably poisonous."
"It was a bug."
"Probably poisonous? That's your level of expertise on this thing?"
"Why did you shoot it?"
"Didn't want to get it on my shoe."

First, THANK YOU! Did you see my post? *bounce*

Also, if you want to do yet more, drawing-wise...have you read the Provost's Dog series, Beka Cooper? I'd love Beka and perhaps Rosto the Piper? Think I'd also love to see you tackle Daine & Numair...perhaps something with the Gods' Realms?

OR ALANNA, OBVSL. Being exasperated. Or hating the cold (as she does *g*).

"I think you ought to be able to get a couple of papers out of the Lakchami," Nancy said as she dropped her pack on to the table in the main room of their quarters and began undoing her headscarf. This wasn't her first time practicing medicine in a place with strong cultural taboos regarding female modesty, although it was new as far as her Pegasus experiences went, and she'd honestly forgotten that she was covered up as her busy morning had progressed into her busier afternoon. "Early onset osteoperosis, diabetes, obesity -- and that's just the women. I can't say I ever thought there'd be a pre-industrial Pegasus population that had a medical profile that matched upper class Saudi Arabia."

Yoni, who should have had plenty to say on the matter, or at least mustered up the distracted grunt that was his indication that he was aware you were talking, was silent. Nancy could have chalked it up to him not hearing her because he was in the other room, but their quarters were so small that it was an implausible excuse and so she went to go see what was up.

"Seriously, Yoni, we haven't been married long enough for you to ignore me when I talk to you," she began as she crossed the main room to where he was standing in the doorway to what was presumably their bedroom.

Their 'marriage' had been an impromptu act to keep them from getting tossed back through the wormhole -- the Lakchami had naquadria and failure to complete the mission was not an option -- and had surprised her nearly as much as it had surprised Major Lorne, who'd spent the mission briefing in Atlantis explaining to Suarez, Ortilla, and Reletti why Nancy 'marrying' any of the team was more trouble than it was worth and so no, there would be no coin-flipping or battles to the death for the right to her hand. And also no, they couldn't tell the Lakchami that Atlantis was a polyandrous society and they were all her husbands. Nonetheless, the three marines had separately offered to be her secret husband, to which she had replied sure, except she wasn't cooking for them and wasn't putting out.

"My ignoring you has nothing to do with our current state of connubial bliss," Yoni replied easily. "I often ignore you."

Nancy poked him sharply in the right kidney, as much for the words as to get him to make room for her in the doorway, which was tiny as per the custom on this world. The Lakchami weren't an especially short people, but they did favor low-bridge architecture. Yoni had bonked his head once already, Reletti more than once, and Ortilla had stayed outside altogether when possible.

The jab had its intended effect, getting Yoni to both move aside and glare irritatedly, and Nancy peered past him.

"Oh," she said after a moment. "I suppose this is going to sharply reduce the chances that we are ever going to live this down."

The sleeping chamber was just that -- a room to sleep. A very tiny room, albeit one large enough to fit them both. Barely. Snugly. The entire floor was covered in blankets that in turn looked to be covering rushes or moss or whatever the Lakchami used to pad their floors.

"I'll take the other room," Yoni said, gesturing with the hand that wasn't holding his pack.

"No you won't," Nancy retorted. "First, there's no real door to the outside and, after the shitfit you threw about anyone messing with your marital property, we sort of have to keep up appearances. Especially because if there were any cause to be sleeping separately, the only reason you'd be out there instead of me would be if I were pregnant and, believe you me, that is not a road we want to go down."

The Lakchami expected their women to remain cloistered and idle, but there were even stricter rules for pregnant women. Which made its own sense in galaxy where the Wraith took so many and population growth was so hard. Nancy was taking a trip tomorrow to the hidden quarters (read: prison) where the Lakchami kept their expectant mothers; there'd be all kinds of hell if they even suspected that she belonged there as anything other than a visitor. (That Lorne and the marines and Yoni were deeply unhappy with the idea of her going anywhere unaccompanied by them was another matter entirely; Lorne was already negotiating for at least one of the marines to join the escort if Yoni weren't allowed to join her.)

"Also, it would be uncomfortable," she added belatedly, then grinned. "And I already know you snore."

"I do not," Yoni protested vehemently.

"You totally do," she assured him, patting his arm before turning to go back to her pack. It was actually more of a quiet snuffle, but he had no way of knowing for sure and the marines would totally back her up even if they knew better. "About all that's left to discover is if you're a blanket hog."
