Challenges?

Hey guys, I have a favor to ask -- do you know of any art-friendly challenges going on in your fandom?

E.g. Naruto, SGA, Doctor Who, H5O, XMFC, ST:Reboot, Leverage, Highlander, SPN, Merlin, Vorkosigan Saga (she says with foolish optimism), etc, etc... I got the craving and then realized I had no grasp of fandom current events. Thanks! :)

sga_saturday has weekly prompts, for art or fic or whatever. (And I would totally love to see you there!) Hmm, it looks like the Merlin glomp_fest is for fic and artists!

Is there much of a leverage community? I should get in on that....

As for leverage, I don't know much about the community. I only managed to write one short fic and draw two small pictures before my love affair ended, but I believe the main fic comm was geteven_getfic.

Hey! For Naruto you missed the sign up date for the Big Bang Contest as an artist but you can still sign up as a writer at the KakaSaku community. Here is the main Post (http://kakasaku.livejournal.com/818529.html)

And also for the same community at February (so in a couple of days) the Tarot challenge will start which is one of the main art challenges in the community. And we'll have a lot of art contests at the community this year that you can see here (https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=kakasakumod%40gmail.com&ctz=America/New_York) If it doesn't work, just go to the community (either at LJ or at DW) and you'll see a link that says Events Calendar. Click on it and you'll find it. XD

And I can tell you of prompt tables that I think are also for Art (one of them certainly is XD)

Oh god, I don't think I could BigBang as a writer. I'm even slower than at art. But thank you for the link! I'll probably spend a lot of time eying the sign-ups and lying to myself.

I'm not familiar with the prompt table phenomenon. Could you give me a little explanation, please?

Well... it's a challenge. You will get a table with prompts. And you have for each prompt to draw or write something. Most are for writers but one of them I am 99% sure is for artists as well..

Does that make it clearer?

I guess then I'll see your wonderful art at the following contests at the community? XD You'll have lost of fun! We are a wonderful group of people (yeah... I have a very big idea of myself XD)

Haha, I think it is okay to be proud of a fun, active community. As for me, I don't want to promise anything as I am pretty famously flaky -- well, to myself. But yes, I am interested in those challenges, for sure. Thank you for the links and info. :)

Well take a look at the beginning of every month at the community's branches and if you like anything, give it a try... if you manage to finish it in time, then great. If not, just finish it whenever you can and share your work with us later XD

Also I am sure that if you post an entry there asking for requests for Art , you'll find a lot of people requesting XD (I am gonna be one of them by the way XD) But post this at LJ because the DW branch is not our main one so many people look mostly at LJ... although I am sure that at a community chat they'll mention it so... it won't probably matter where you post. XD

Don't know of challenges but a fanart meme just started where you offer to draw characters in historical fashion. Fun. It's one of the most recent posts in my journal.
