Very Time Sensitive Question

If I were going to draw a Star Trek Reboot character in a fancy dress, who would it be? So far on the table are Kirk's mom*, Gaila, and girl!Spock, purely for aesthetic reasons related to straight black hair and elf ears.

*I am on the Kirk's-mom-was-not-a-terrible-mom-though-I'm-okay-with-flawed-and-complicated-but-loving-like-Henry-Spencer train. Also the Kirk's-mom-is-totally-alive train, and the that-angry-guy-shouting-in-the-car-was-Winona's-brother-before-they-cut-that-extra-scene-so-I-call-that-personal-canon train (thank you, DVD extras).

Haha, oh god, that dress. I am so conflicted about that dress -- I was happy that Kaylee was happy but at the same time, that dress was so ugly. XD

Agreed -- it gave me embarrassment squick. Bones would at least be aware of how ugly it was. But you could just give him a pretty southern belle gown.

Oh, the squick. I know it well. Important question: were you squick more or less by Mal punching that guy and digging deeper and deeper due to not knowing crap about upper class etiquette? That was worse for me... :D

I don't remember that part of it, but I think the dress squicked me worse because the Mal part was such a tired cliche that I couldn't invest myself in his part of the storyline in that episode.

I confess I'm really fond of girl!Spock, but on the other hand Gaila in a fancy dress EITHER being all happy because she gets to wear it OR bitching about how completely inconvenient it is for both engineering and sex, that would entertain me... And there needs to be more fanart of Winona in general... (Which name I have seen for her from materials predating ST09 by a decade.)

This was completely unhelpful. MAYBE YOU SHOULD DRAW THEM ALL.

Girl Spock is pretty aesthetically pleasing to draw, but I did give in and start some with Winona and with Gaila. So we'll see! :D

(Winona Kirk, mother of George Samuel Kirk and James Tiberius Kirk, wife of George Joseph Kirk? She was first named Winona in a novel published in 1986 -- and several thereafter, my favourite being Memory Prime when Spock and Kirk are secretly sending messages to each other address "To Amanda from Winona" and vice versa. Wasn't canonized until the new movie had George calling her that. And ST09 is one of the many abbreviations I've seen for the 2009 Star Trek movie; also popular are AOS and nuTrek. If this is way more info than you needed, forgive me, I haven't had much sleep.)

Sorry, you threw me because -- having also tried to sort through all the ways to refer to the new trek universe -- I know that it is the eleventh star trek movie, so I expected it to be ST11 and that ST09 was a reference one of the man parts of Trek canon that I am not familiar with. I thought you were referring to some controversy about the characters name. THAT SAID, I was interested to know where the name came from! So thank you for the info download. Coded messages by their mom's names -- that's fantastic. XD

Hmm, for this one, I'm angling for a kind of character arc in-picture, and Uhura would rock the dress but she's too elegant and put together already to give her an elegant, noble dress too... I tried something with Gaila, though I don't know that it came the way I wanted. Thanks for the input! I am terrible at decisions. :)
