RIP Meebo

So meebo, the in-browser im client is getting axed, which is sort of like half my social life getting axed. Or maybe just my social life with ileliberte. Does anyone know of a good alternative?

I use Pidgin? It's a universal chat client. You have to sign up with the original service, but then you can be on AIM or YAHOO, or ICQ or pretty much anything and just have Pidgin on your computer. It's a little picky about setting up accounts, just because it's SO NOT a commercial product (I.E. geeks don't know what people don't know), but it's not super impossible either.
