procrastination time -- prompts

Today, I grated my knuckle in a microplane. I got it into a band-aid so fast I don't think I even saw the damage.

Anyway, two things --

1. Short term: could you give me a prompt of character(s) and a line of dialogue? Any fandom, bonus for fewer slash OTPs and tropes, more character quirks, bff, girls, gen -- even het! etc.

2. Longer term: could anyone prompt me with some Star Trek (2009) prompts? Bonus for less Kirk, more Uhura, Winona, Sulu, Chekov, McCoy, etc...

OK, so Karl Urban was Eomer in LotR, right? Horses love McCoy, and he has no idea why. Uhura and Spock find it hilarious.

This prompt is so wonderful that the one I had in mind when I clicked reply fizzled out of my brain entirely.

It was Sulu, because I'm still me, and probably something with the sword, because again with the still being me, but I'm pretty much reduced to stuttering, "um, what she said, please."

Haha, he does hate rules. Alex Krycek is not one of my fandoms, having not seen his seasons of the X-files. If I make a sad face, will you give me another Methos prompt? :)

I'd love to see more Chekov - maybe his first away mission, or his first one as the highest ranking officer. Or Uhura and Chekov on a mission, with Uhura in charge and trying to be all Badass Starfleet Officer and really she's nervous about messing up and everyone deciding she's not qualified to be there. And Chekov ends up being a perfect sounding board.

Stargate (mostly SGA):

- Rodney & Elizabeth, Antarctica. "This is what you think is a 'necessity' to pack for Atlantis?"

- Rodney & Elizabeth (can you tell I love this friendship?), awesome/terrible secret agents (channel that scene from The Return Part 2?) "Trust me, I know CIA agents who are much worse at this."

- Teyla and Teal'c sparring. (Am I the only one who thinks she'd win? He and Ronon seemed about even, and she regularly kicks Ronon's butt...) The only dialogue I can think of is "Most impressive." :/

- Dr. Coleman (who does not get enough love! even though she had more screentime than Simpson!), Dr. Kusanagi (Miko!), and Dr. Dumais (lovely and talented~) <-- these ladies are a trifecta of awesome in SGA. Seperately or together. Possible dialogues: "I am/we are so smart!", "I/we have the solution!", "I will not freak out, I will not freak out, I will not freak out...", and "Wait wait, it shouldn't do that --"

- Chucknician, fuzzy animals and/or saving the world. "It was nothing, really."


Do you want dialogue with the ST09 prompts as well?

And you're right -- I have no idea who Coleman is. XD

ST09 prompts will help me come up with my picture for trekreversebang, so any format is a-okay. :)

Coleman @ Stargatewiki. She's in the background in more than the three episodes they list there, being a competant labrat and rolling her eyes at McKay and/or Zelenka. Mostly McKay. I don't really understand why Simpson gets so much more fan attention, since she was only in one episode -- even when that "let's recast our fave things with more people of colour!" meme was taking the blogosphere by storm, people kept forgetting about Coleman. :( [/soapbox?]

I shall muse on ST09 prompts. Do you only want characters seen on screen, or is speculation about original 'verse characters in the ST09 'verse okay?

Sadly, I don't know TOS. Such prompts would need to come with a full explanation, and the picture would be of ST09 on-screen characters.

Okay. I will refrain from doing that, I think, then. X3 McCoy does call for "Chapel" at one point, and there at least two blond female medical officers who could be her in ST09, but no one is sure.

Teyla would definitely beat Teal'c. Once, she kicked Ronon's butt while blindfolded. Even Teal'c and Ronon only managed a draw (up until the point where Sam shut it down).

That's what I was thinking of, yes.

Aw, all I can think of is tropes, like Ronon and Rodney: "This is another fine mess you've gotten us into" or something.

But for Star Trek, howsabout when they do finally graduate from the Academy? Because you know Uhura's whole family shows up and, like, her mom gives Spock the third degree and her little sister develops a giant crush on him. Or vice versa.

To be honest, the only trope I wanted to avoid was the assumption that a popular slash pairing was canon or inevitable since I'm not a true slash fan, so that sort of thing is totally fine. :)

Ooh, graduation! Interesting. What is Uhura's whole family like, do you think? I feel like at the end of this I am going to have to do more than one picture or I will feel like I missed so many opportunities.
