My brain while drawing Hockey:

So it's going... well. Uh. I have been doing nothing but photoshop for four days, and I have produced 2 pictures. And one of those was me giving up and drawing ninjas.

So, I have the flu. Afterwards, let's all go get Shawarma.

I did manage to pick up in life that the "stomach flu" was not really the flu at all, but I thought that meant that real flu was just a nasty version of the stomach flu. Based on that understanding, I never got a flu shot because I knew with great certainty that I never got the flu.

Jokes on me it turns out because the flu is a respiratory virus and is more two week head cold from hell than serious puke fest. Which means that I get the flu all the time. Flu shots for life, guys. I will be good from now on, I promise. That is my future.

Anyway. Shit I have managed to get done in the last month, despite a combination of flu + an unexpected business trip:

My new number one fanfic squick

Ok, for once I would like to read a fic where: Character A finds out everyone in the universe thinks he is already taken by Character B and that's why everyone is giving him the cold shoulder after his latest date. And Character A gets pissed off and loses it in a big way. I would like Character A to explain some things about 1) his availability and 2) his freedom to go on dates as an available person -- and then I would like all those other characters to listen.

This can be followed by Characters A and B hooking up some time in the future, fine, no problem, but first -- THE LISTENING, PLEASE.

I swear to god, if it was a mutually exclusive choice between hooking up with my dreamboat and forcing friends and strangers to realize that they do not know my opinions and my actions better than I do myself, I would choose the latter every time.

The story that I am reading now. It is bad.

I mentioned that reading Naruto fanfic caused you to spend a lot of time on ff.net losing hope in hum--no, that's not it--teenage girls?

I cannot even -- I just realized I have 3 more chapters to go and that the summary does not say "COMPLETE". At least it will be over then, and I can decide to never come back.

The last trip's humidity ate my very basic phone, ergo my free time is currently divided between reading inception fic, convincing myself I don't want a Droid, and convincing myself I do. How was your summer?

I am immensely, unnecessarily depressed right now. It's a little silly, and yet no less sad.

My first fandom, the fandom of my heart is not on the yuletide list. It made it in last year -- hence my spending most of the summer and fall happily plotting -- but this year, it was rejected. I think because once upon a time it was a large fandom, and there was no one around to say, "No, no, that stuff on ff.net is all old! I promise!" The yuletide process is a bit of a mystery to me, so I know I wasn't. I'd learned just enough to make sure I nominated it. Sigh. Misery.

I got by before RW/YST made it into Yuletide, of course, and there are so many shiny fandoms that did get in -- but this one was mine, y'know? I mean, you guys get that sort of feeling. We'll just see if I'm un-depressed enough before sign ups end.

The weirdest part about lacking a fandom is that I don't know who to draw silly pictures of during ill-advised bouts of procrastination. I got nothing.

I think I need some kind of fandom pimping service.
